THE REASON BEHIND THE PAIR

A more defined jawline
with firmer-looking skin

When you look in the mirror, a jawline that is starting to sag may not be your only concern. Your skin may also feel less firm than before, leaving you wondering which treatment could address both.

The Ul-Xerf programme at BEHAP combines Ultherapy PRIME and XERF for people with these goals. Each device addresses a different concern. Understanding what each one does can help you decide whether combining them suits what you want to achieve.

TWO TECHNOLOGIES. DIFFERENT ENERGY PATTERNS.

Ultherapy PRIME: Targeting the tissues that support facial contours

Giving the jawline a lifted appearance involves tissues deeper than the skin we can see. Ultherapy PRIME uses ultrasound to deliver energy in small, focused points to selected tissues, including the SMAS, the fibrous and muscular system that helps support facial tissues. This stimulates contraction and collagen remodelling.

A defining feature is that the doctor can see the tissue layers with ultrasound imaging during treatment and select the treatment location and depth based on the tissues they can see. Because thickness and structure vary across the face, this allows the doctor to target the tissue that needs attention in each area.

This is what Deep & Precise means in the Ul-Xerf programme: treating deeper tissues with imaging to help locate the treatment target. Ultherapy technology and Selecting tissue depth

XERF: Addressing the skin firmness you also want

If your skin feels loose, less firm or less elastic than before, this is where XERF fits into the programme. Its radiofrequency heat is intended to stimulate the production and remodelling of collagen and elastin, which contribute to skin firmness and elasticity.

XERF distributes heat across an area of tissue, with shallow, middle and deep treatment levels that allow treatment to be adapted to different parts of the face. This is what we mean by Broad & Layered: addressing skin firmness through broader energy distribution, at a level suited to the treatment area. XERF manufacturer information

DIFFERENT STRENGTHS. ONE PLAN.

How does Ultherapy PRIME differ from XERF?

Both treatments use heat to stimulate tissue changes. Their different methods of delivering energy give them distinct strengths that can be used together.

Ultherapy PRIME
Focused points for lifting

Ultrasound focuses energy into small points at a selected depth, while ultrasound imaging lets the doctor see the tissue layers during treatment. Within the Ul-Xerf plan, it is used to lift and tighten the tissues that support facial contours, including the SMAS region.

XERF
Broader heating for skin firmness

Two radiofrequencies, 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz, distribute heat across an area of tissue. Within the Ul-Xerf plan, XERF is used to stimulate collagen and elastin to address skin firmness and elasticity.

To address both a sagging jawline and skin that lacks firmness, the two treatments can be combined in one plan.

Ultherapy PRIME and XERF
can be combined

If you want both a more defined jawline and firmer-looking skin, you do not have to choose only one treatment. Ul-Xerf combines the strengths of Ultherapy PRIME and XERF to address both goals in one plan.

Ultherapy PRIME focuses on lifting and tightening the tissues that support facial contours, while XERF supports skin firmness and elasticity through collagen and elastin. These different methods of delivering energy are the reason for combining the two treatments. At BEHAP, they can be scheduled on the same day.

ONE VISIT

Address both concerns in one visit

At BEHAP, Ultherapy PRIME and XERF can be performed on the same day. Combining both treatments in one appointment saves you from arranging separate visits for each device. This makes scheduling more convenient if you already want both technologies.

Should you choose Ul-Xerf or a single treatment?

Think about what first prompted you to consider a lifting treatment. If you have both a jawline that is starting to sag and skin that lacks firmness, Ul-Xerf is worth considering. If only one of these concerns applies, a single device may be enough. An assessment with a doctor can help establish where adding the second treatment would benefit your face.

You do not need to choose a device before your visit. Start by describing the changes you have noticed and how you would like those areas to look. That is enough to begin discussing a treatment plan.
