IgniteRF handpieces:
how do they differ?

Morpheus8, QuantumRF and RFAL (radiofrequency-assisted lipo-coagulation, including AccuTite, FaceTite and BodyTite) are part of the IgniteRF platform, but deliver energy into the skin and underlying tissue in different ways. Compare how they work, their instrument designs and aftercare before discussing a treatment plan with your doctor.

One platform,
three ways to deliver RF

IgniteRF is a radiofrequency (RF) platform with several handpiece options. Morpheus8 delivers RF through fine needles, while QuantumRF and RFAL use an instrument inserted beneath the skin through a small incision. These different delivery methods involve different procedures and aftercare.

The guide below brings together handpieces and variants from manufacturer documentation, including QuantumRF 17 in the current product information, so you can understand the options before your consultation.

Skin texture and firmness

Morpheus8 delivers RF through fine needles. The tips differ in needle count and intended use. Burst and Burst Deep support energy delivery at multiple depths selected by the doctor.

03 / PLAN THE RECOVERY

Plan for recovery
before setting a treatment date

Select a group to see the example recovery periods provided by the manufacturer, then discuss the aftercare needed for your treatment area and procedure.

The slides give examples of mild redness or swelling for 1–3 days and small crusts for 3–5 days. Plan for care of needle marks, skincare and sun protection.

What to ask before treatmentWhen can you resume skincare and makeup, based on how your skin is healing?

Read about preparation and aftercare

These example periods come from page 39 of the InMode comparison slides. They are not a recovery timetable for everyone or handpiece-specific data for every model. Actual recovery depends on the area, energy settings, combined procedures and aftercare. Information from InMode

04 / QUESTIONS THAT MATTER

Questions before choosing treatment

Do all IgniteRF handpieces need to be used together?

No. Each group delivers energy differently and has a different scope of use. If your doctor recommends a combination, they should explain what each treatment addresses and how it affects cost and recovery.

How do Morpheus8 Burst Deep and QuantumRF 25 differ?

Burst Deep delivers RF through needles from the skin’s surface. QuantumRF 25 uses a cannula inserted through a small incision, delivering energy from electrodes beneath the skin. The energy-delivery methods and aftercare requirements are therefore different.

Are all 24-needle tips the same?

No. Burst and Burst Resurfacing have the same needle count but different uses, with Resurfacing focusing on superficial skin. Needle count alone cannot determine which tip to use.

Do QuantumRF or RFAL always involve liposuction?

Not always. RF delivery and liposuction are separate parts of a treatment plan. The FaceTite model in the manufacturer’s information is described as having a cannula without built-in aspiration. Ask which steps are included in the proposed treatment.

Are Turbo models better for everyone?

Turbo describes engineering differences such as shaft rigidity, length or supported power. It does not establish better results for everyone. The doctor still needs to match the instrument to the area and procedure.

Does cannula length mean treatment depth?

No. Cannula length is an instrument dimension. The doctor determines the working path and depth according to the treatment area and anatomy, so instrument length should not be interpreted as treatment depth.
